How long have we owned the cars?
We have owned most of the cars for at least a decade. Horace, the 12/50 Alvis we have had since 1958 and our most recent acquisition is the taxi, Sid, which we bought in 2008. Charismatic cars has been in business for 30 years, and on average length of ownership is nearly 15 years.
What happens if the car breaks down?
We spend an awful lot of time and money to make sure that does not happen. In 30 years and several thousand weddings we have only failed to get the bride to church once! She did get to the church on time, but not in one of our cars.
How far ahead should we book?
About 12/18 months is the norm but we have taken them as much as 3 years in advance! Always remember you can never book too early but can easily try to book too late !
Is there a discount for two cars?
Yes - it is £50 off the second car.
What about taking bridesmaids in the same car?
No problem as long as the trip to the venue is a maximum of 15 minutes otherwise it means the bridesmaids have to be taken far too early. Alternatively you could hire a second or even third car.
Can you take children?
We can carry children as long as they are age three or older. Bear in mind that there are no seat belts in ancient cars and the child's parents must be made aware of this fact.
Will the chauffeur be in uniform?
Yes - he will look like a chauffeur not like somebody you borrowed the car from!
Should we give the chauffeur a tip?
If you think he is worth it then it is a very good way to show your appreciation.
Are there any hidden charges?
None whatsoever unless you depart significantly from the agreed schedule.
Can we have ribbons to match the dresses?
We only supply white of ivory ribbons - if you want matching ribbons then you buy 6 meters of ribbon of your choice and we will be pleased to put them on the car.
Can you take disabled people?
We are more than happy to accommodate disabled people but it is prudent for them to visit and try getting in and out of the car you have booked.
Can you carry luggage?
Some of the cars have rather small luggage boots so it is better if you can have the luggage transported in a modern car.
Do we need to provide an umbrella?
All the cars carry a 'Charismatic Cars' umbrella so there is no need. The cars also carry a 'bridal emergency kit' which contains safety pins, tissues, etc.etc for those little unforeseen dramas !
Do you own all the cars?
Yes we do unless stated otherwise.
